There are only 10-15 piston engine helicopters out of appx 300 civil registered helicopter. I think piston engne helicopters are lower priced and less operational cost in comparision of turbine engine helicopters. Then also there are only a little number of piston engine choppers. Can somebody tell me the reason behind it ? Helicopter India is the best platform to discuss this issue.

1. why is a free/clean/normal cct done before you start appx D?

rudders and collective....(though many of us do it)
Once again the elections are round the corner. The usual hiccups of GPS
coordinates, helipad siting, crowd control and Netas walking into / out of
helicopter with rotors running will happen again. The views of pilots and
users normally are not on same wave length unless some of us become one upman
to serve their company.
DGCA issues circulars for the Pilots and onus gets shifted to them for adhering to these instructions. But are the agents hiring the helicopters and the end users the politicians ready to follow these in the same way as these are purported to be?
The Helicopter India can take the initiative of starting the education series through TV media as discussions and video films which can be down loaded from www.rotor.com.

1.why was the restriction on quick stop and auto's in a sortie?
2 why was quick stop delinked from autos as far as the above restriction
was concerened ?
